🎉 Welcoming two new Platogos
We’re delighted to share that two new people joined the Platogo family this month, please help us welcome Hasti and Santiago! Every new team member brings fresh perspective and energy, and we’re genuinely excited to have them with us. Here’s to the ideas, questions, and contributions ahead.
🙌 Hosting the Ruby Meetup
We were honored to host Vienna.rb (Ruby Meetup) at our office this month. There’s something special about opening our space to the community: an evening of great talks, thoughtful questions, and the kind of hallway conversations that only happen when people who love their craft get together in one room.
We were especially proud to have one of our own on the lineup: Gregg (Grzegorz Jakubiak) gave a talk titled “Retro, Ruby and Frontend” – a fun and nostalgic story about rebuilding his childhood Nokia 3310 Snake game in the browser using WebAssembly in Ruby. A perfect blend of nostalgia, creativity, and the language we love. 🐍🕹️
The evening also featured great talks from Aaron Cruz (“If You Didn’t Record It, It Didn’t Happen – Practical Observability for Rails”) and Jan Grodowski (“Rails Migrations at Scale”). Thank you to every speaker and attendee who made it such a great night. Community is something we care about deeply, and events like this are a big part of why.
✈️ On the road across Europe
September also had us traveling far and wide to learn from and contribute to the wider tech community:
- Marie headed to Brno, Czechia for Euruko 2026 (Sep 16–18), the longest-running and biggest Ruby conference in Europe.
- Majeed traveled to Paris for dotJS, one of the leading JavaScript conferences on the continent.
- Lukas and Jesse flew to Copenhagen for Future Product Days, diving into the latest in product thinking and design.
Every trip brings back new perspectives, fresh inspiration, and plenty of notes to share with the rest of the team and that cross-pollination of ideas is exactly what keeps us growing.
So: new faces, a full house at the meetup, and Platogos representing across Europe. Not bad for one month. We’re heading into the rest of the year energized and excited for what’s next.
